Dear Friend,
REACH has made it through the first year in its new state as a self-sustaining part of Foothill-De Anza's Community Education program. The students and caregivers have adapted to the revised schedules and here we are: planning for our continued operations and the many challenges ahead. In these days of government funding shortfalls, crises, layoffs and programs being eliminated, it is gratifying to have navigated through this first year, and to have your support to keep REACH going and accessible for our students.
While there is much work to do, here are a few highlights:
- Since we began fundraising in October 2010, we have raised over $15,000.
- All students in need of financial support have received scholarships and fee waivers to cover the cost of program enrollment.
- We were able to purchase new pedal exerciser equipment to support students in our mobility and fitness skills programs.
Sincerely,
Friends of REACH
At REACH, we have a picture of Mt. Everest displayed in our classroom to remind us to always reach higher. The giving levels we have created are inspired by that idea.
